Museum of Human E-Motions is a satellite event of Dancing Museums. It is a collaboration project between two DM partners and several Asian partners, interested in exploring dance as heritage and in heritage spaces. During the first edition of the project, artists could travel, meet and exchange in person. This was impossible during the second reiteration of the project (Sept – Dec 2020). The digital space became thus the floor where to co-imagine a new edition of Museum of Human E-motions.
Five artists – Shane Santanastasio (FR), Giacomo Citton (IT), Osamu Shikichi (JP), Sarah Xiao Chengyong (HK) et YenCheng Liu (TW) – explored new forms of artistic and social connection, through a series of five digital residencies, each organised by one of the five project partners (Centro per la Scena Contemporanea Bassano del Grappa, in Italy and La Briqueterie – CDCN du Val-de-Marne, in France, The National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts – Weiwuying, in Taiwan, The Saison Foundation in Japan and West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong). Dramaturg Monica Gillette led the artists and the partners in a collaborative project, exploring emotions in dance and the virtual space.
This video captures the entire journey from start to finish.
