Luisella Carnelli has a PhD in Theory and History of Theatre, and a Master in Entrepreneurship of Performing Arts.

Since 2004, she has worked as researcher and consultant at Fondazione Fitzcarraldo and the Cultural Observatory of Piedmont, Italy.

As senior researcher and consultant, she carries out studies and research designed to investigate the crucial aspects of creativity, production, organisation, evaluation and consumption of culture and management of cultural organisations. She especially deals with analysis of cultural behaviours and cultural project evaluation, with a primary focus on audience engagement and participatory approaches for performing arts.

She gives lectures in Audience Development, Cultural Marketing, Digital Strategy both to students and professionals.

Since 2013, she has collaborated with banking foundations in the evaluation of Performing Arts projects.

She is author and co-author of scientific publications dealing with visitor studies, impact evaluation, cultural policies, audience development and engagement, and participation.
