25 Nov 2019 - 1 Dec 2019
Vitry-sur-Seine/Paris
The workshop in Vitry-sur-Seine involved La Briqueterie – CDCN du Val de Marne and the MAC VAL Museum. It focused on the following question: ‘How can the arts work towards inclusion?’.
Questions of inclusion, and the role of cultural centres and culture as tools for urban regeneration and their impact on social-advancement initiatives, formed the basis of the research as both organisations are based in the suburbs of a large city and in an area of major urban developmental transformation.
Ana Pi, together with artists of Lá da Favelinha Cultural Centre in Belo Horizonte and the other international DM artists, questioned notions of inclusion and decolonisation. Amid the current global earthquake, how can we touch the ground?
Round table, workshop and party on the 29th November at La Briqueterie. Public event at Mac Val on 1st December at the MAC VAL.
